application-aware processing

Post by pazzoide76 »

Hello,
I need to upgrade an infrastructure based on veeam 9.5 u4b.
My customer still uses vm with windows 2003 and xp and various versions of sql.
I know it will no longer be possible to use application-aware processing with windows 2003 and windows xp.
I would need to know which microsoft operating systems and which versions of sql and exchage server support the application-aware processing functionality in veeam 11a.

Thank you

Greetings

Hi Simone

This is documented here (Guide - Application-Aware Processing):
Application-aware processing is supported for Microsoft Windows client versions starting from Windows Vista and for server versions starting from Windows Server 2008. To use application-aware processing, you must have VMware Tools and the latest updates installed on the VM guest OS.
and here (Requirements Guide - Supported Applications).
The following versions of Microsoft Exchange are supported:
Microsoft Exchange 2019
Microsoft Exchange 2016
Microsoft Exchange 2013 SP1
Microsoft Exchange 2013
Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1, SP2, or SP3
The following versions of Microsoft SQL Server are supported (for application-aware processing and transaction log backup):
Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (only for Windows)
Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (only for Windows)
Microsoft SQL Server 2016 SP2
Microsoft SQL Server 2014 SP3
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP4
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP4

All editions of Microsoft SQL Server are supported.
