Are you not able to backup VMware vCenter Server Appliance?

Hello,

Are you allowed to backup the VMware vCenter Server Appliance with VEEAM? Specifically VCSA 6.7.0 build 17028632? Or should you use an alternate method to keep that appliance backed up? Reason I ask is because every night that veeam runs that appliance has a warning on it that says Unable to perform guest file system indexing: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. This is with veeam 10.0.1.4854. I would like to have the backup job all green, no warnings and it does look like information is being transferred, at least almost 600MB last night for example.

Hello! To make the backup job all green, you should disable the guest file system indexing for the appliance VM backup. Thanks!

Guest Indexing is not needed for File Level recovery. It will allow you to have a global file catalog in enterprise manager for Self Service restore. It is very unlikely that you will use this together with the VCSA.
