Asynchronous read operation failed - Failed to upload disk

Post by maxxer »

Hi.
I'm having problems with the backup of a Linux VM: since a couple of weeks it hangs, blocking the VM (I cannot even access the console from vSphere Client) which then I need to forcibly reboot.

The only error I found is the one below:

I found different possible reasons for the CRC error, but not precisely for this Asynchronous read operation failed: is it a problem of the source disks or the target?

thanks

Hi Lorenzo,
Usually this error is caused by bad blocks on the disk, so please analyse your storage hardware to resolve this issue.
I would also suggest contacting the support team.
Thanks!

on the source or destination disk? I found other replies which suggested what you said, but the error was different: unable to read file or something like that. Since this one is instead Failed to upload disk I thought it could be related to the destination storage.

On the source side, since it`s read operation just after job objects are built.
If you contact the support team, please post the case number here.
Thanks!
