I am running Veeam Cloud Connect. It was setup and running under version 8. Then I installed Update 1 and now get the following error when a client tries to make a connection:

Cloud Resource Rescan Failed.
Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream.

Additional info in logs:

Certificate is not set

But I have a certificate assigned. And it was working prior to applying update 1.

Larry, just to confirm, do the both sides run the same Veeam B&R patch level?

You need to request the membership as Anton described. As to technical issues, then it is recommended to open a support case and reference it in your forum post.

Vlad/Vitaliy,

Kyle and I just worked on this issue today (case #00824040). The issue came down to having multiple servers in amazon web services having the same server name. If you did a nslookup from the Veeam Provider Server, it responded with 3 various IP address, 1 correct, 2 incorrect. Once we changed the server names, the gateway was able to accept connections. Kyle mentioned towards the end of our call that he was going to update this case with his findings as well.

HI,

Tenants can't connect to our Cloud Gateway (Case#01687398), the Error is:
Certificate Validation Failed: Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream. The provider does not have a valid certificate.

On the Backup & Replication Server behind the Gateway, we had an Entry in the Svc.VeeamCloudConnect.log, looks like:
Certificate is not set (System.Exception)

Does somebody has any idea or suggestions?

Some hints are mentioned above: check the version and certificate itself, and continue investigating with support if nothing helps.

Also, please request access to Veeam Cloud Provider group, as described above.
