Hello,
we have a small test environment which we backup with VEEAM Backup&Replication 9.5 in "Community edition" (free) license mode. We used to backup 8 VMs with this. Now we had a crash of the vcenter-Appliance and I reinstalled that from scratch. Now VEEAM Backup&Replication is complaining about "license exceeded", because that vcenter and the admin-VMs are counted twice. I see an object "vcenter" with a date of 18.9.2020 and another object "vcenter" with a date of 20.9.2020, same with the admin-VM. I did rescan / reconnecting and rebuilding the backupjobs, no change. I then upgraded to VEEAM B&R Version 10a as of today, but the license count is still wrong. The backupjob definition does not show those double entries.
How can I reset / cleanup this?
Regards from Germany,
Philipp

Re: B&R community edition license count wrong
Hi Philipp, have you tried to revoke the license from the old vCenter instance?

Re: B&R community edition license count wrong
Hello foggy,
great tip, that was it!
Had to revoke all licenses, because the new vcenter creates new object-ids for all VMs, the names seem to be the same, but its not the same vm.
Thank you!
Regards,
Philipp
