Hi Community,
I have some virtual servers that are going to be decommissioned and removed from vSphere, so I need to know how to take a final full backup of these VMs.
I need to be able to restore them in the future if it is required, so I must be able to find the backups within Veeam and be able to restore them either from disk (for up to 30 days) and after that from tape.
Can you please advise on the recommended process?

Re: Backing up decomissioned VMs
One time independent full backup called VeeamZIP seems to be exactly what you're looking for. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply and the information.
Will that be searchable with Veeam, if I need to restore it in future? Can Veeam copy that VeeamZIP job to tape?

Re: Backing up decomissioned VMs
You can import it to a backup console and initiate a restore procedure afterwards. Or double click on corresponding .vbk.Will that be searchable with Veeam, if I need to restore it in future?
Yep, via files to tape jobs. Can Veeam copy that VeeamZIP job to tape?
