Greetings,
I'm in the process of utilizing our HP StorageWorks 1650 NAS as an NFS data store for our 5.5 cluster. Unfortunately, the NAS does not support VAAI so I'm stuck with Thick disks. The primary purpose of this NFS data store is to house our department and user shares. I've already built the server in VMWare and created a 3 TB disk for the shares which covers the data and leaves room for growth.
My question is, with CBT enabled, what should I expect? Will Veeam backup the entire 3 TB or just the data on the disk? I'm not totally sure what to expect with dumping an additional 3 TB onto our backups.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Backing up Thick Provisioned Eager Zeroed disk
I would expect to see all 3TB read for the initial full backup, but empty data blocks will not be written to the backup file. Incremental backups will read only changed data.
