Hi,
I have an Exchange server (VM) that manages multiple Exchange DBs.
However, my Exchange admin asked me to backup only one specific DBs in VEEAM.
I don't see an obvious way to select one specific DB as part of the job configuration.
Except perhaps by using exclusion settings and including only the folder that hosts this DB.
Any other advice?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Backup a specific DB for an Exchange server
As you're creating a vm/image backup, you won't be able to select a specific database.
The only way would be, like you write, to include/exclude the specific folder or disk.
During the backup, Veeam will still truncate the logs of all databases though. So if your Exchange admin wants to prevent Veeam from touching any of the other databases, inclusion/exclusion won't work.

Re: Backup a specific DB for an Exchange server
Just to add here, that it is NOT Veeam that truncate the logs. We are using the VSS framework as best practices outline from Microsoft. During this process Microsoft VSS itself decides if logfiles will be truncated or not. In most of the cases this is done for any database.
