Backup browser frozen

Post by rosmith42 »

We are using Veeam 10

Just started to do a File Level Restore from VmWare \Restore from Backup\ Guest file restore from a Microsoft Windows Vm.
Picked the date of the backup to restore and opened a Backup browser after it was mounted for viewing.
However, it froze. I can't kill it in task manager and did try to stop the job but its slow and unresponsive.
Checking task manager and found that Veeam.Backup.Fex will not stop.

Not sure what to do other then wait or contact Veeam support. Anyone else seen this before?

Hi Rob,
Was it a first run of File Level Recovery you have performed in v10 or that behavior has appeared out of nowhere on Xth run? Anyhow, I would check with Antiviral software you might have, as it is common to block Veeam recovery features. Check recommended AV exceptions here.
As for stuck process resolution, if you are certain no backup\recovery jobs are scheduled to run, feel free to reboot Veeam server - FLR session should be gone.
/Thanks!

Yes, you can reboot the Veeam B&R server and feel free to contact support if the behavior persists. Thanks!
