I cannot find any references in the documentation for backup copy job and Data Domain.
Backups write to one Data Domain, I have some test copy jobs sending them to another Data Domain. In the BCJ settings, deduplication is enabled by default. Since the Data Domain do their own dedupe, should this be disabled? It's working with it enabled, and I can successfully restore a VM from the copy job, but I want to do things the correct way. What is the guidance?

Re: Backup Copy Job Data Domain Question
Hi pmichelli,
Check our KB here for a list of the best practices for deduplication appliances including documents from the respective vendors on the ideal configuration. Indeed, Dell recommends disabling the deduplication entirely; it will work just fine without it, but the deduplication rate may (likely) be impacted with deduplication enabled.
