Backup Copy Job failes when try to do backup copy to remote repository
Hi Team,
I have setup remote repository (NAS device) as nfs file share in branch office and from HQ Veeam Backup and Replication Server, I am trying to do backup copy job of workstation to Branch office NAS repo.
Both HQ and Branch office is connected by site to site VPN and able to ping NAS device from both the side.
But I can see backup jobs keeps failing with below error.
Error: An unexpected network error occurred. Failed to write data to the file [\\192.168.X.X\Veeam_Offsite_Backup\Workstation_laptop Offsite Backup Copy Job\Workstation_laptop Offsite Backup Copy Job_5F94D2019-02-16T120000.vib]. Agent failed to process method {Stg.AddKeySets}.
Maximum retry count reached (5 out of 5).
Thanks,
Govi

Re: Backup Copy Job failes when try to do backup copy to remote repository
Hi,
Do you mean to say that copy paste the backups files from HQ Repo to Offsite Branch Office Repo? Or Create one more schedule and run the backup to offsite location.
Please note that for workstation backup I am using Windows Free Agent which integrated with Veeam Backup and Replication Server Repo( not destination as nfs file share) and with free agent i cannot create second backup job so only option i have is to to create backup copy job from Veeam B&R 9.5 console and create backup copy to Offsite Repository located in branch office.
But i can see jobs are failing with above message.
Thanks,
Govi

Re: Backup Copy Job failes when try to do backup copy to remote repository
The error states failed to write so it may just be a permission issue. Are you sure you can write a file by doing a copy paste on any file there? Just access the share via \\192.168.X.X\Veeam_Offsite_Backup\ and try to make a folder or create a file.

Hi,
yes, Its confirmed that all necessary read/write permission assigned to \\192.168.X.X\Veeam_Offsite_Backup\
Thanks,
Govi.

Re: Backup Copy Job failes when try to do backup copy to remote repository
Hi,
Technical support will be last option i am looking at right now. Just one more question, I have copied all the backup files which i wish to move on offsite location to USB Drive (1TB) and connect to Offsite device NAS device and copied it back to Offsite NAS. How do I sync the backup with On premise Backup Repository to Offsite NAS Repository once backups are copied physically. Physical copy of backup is done just to preserver bandwidth and time. Basically I have setup Backup copy job to move data from on premise to offsite backup, since this copy job is time consuming and bandwidth is taken at the time of backup copy job. Please note that On premise and offsite backup NAS are connected by site to site VPN.
Thanks,
Govi
