Backup copy "restore points to keep" setting

What is meaning of backup copy job setting "restore points to keep"?
For example I have backup job, thats collects restore points of 2 weeks, and copy job, that collects weekly, montly etc. backups.
Should I set setting "restore points to keep" the sum of all older restore points (weekly+montly+...) or can it just be "2"?
For me it would be enough to keep daily backups during 2 weeks and some older weekly and montly restore points.
I dont need to keep daily backups with backup copy job.

Can be just 2.

Tick "keep the following restore points for archival purposes" and specify there number and type of GFS restore points you want to preserve.
