Re: Backup Data keep growing
Hi Julien,
Do you mean you have big incremental backups, while you don`t mention a lot of activity in your VMs?
Could you tell more about those VMs, what is the size of full backup file, are there Exchange, SQL, Oracle servers?
Do you make antivirus scan or defragmentation process between backup job`s runs?
Thank you.

Dear nshestakov,
the VM are Domain controllers, Exchange and Win 7
yes i mean the backup transfert everyday extra 17 GB till 22GB, like showed on the screenshoot Transfered . are the extran data that is backed up inclused with the exisiting backed up data.
i am backing up 3 VM's with one backup job. so the files are backed up to one file .
DC = 741 GB ( Two HDD ).
Exchange is 90 GB
Virtual 7 is 65 GB
there is no antivirus scan or defragment process between the jobs.

Re: Backup Data keep growing
So this would likely be due to the Exchange server then, as Exchange servers create large amount of transaction logs every day, thus creating a lot of changes in the virtual disk that we need to process on the image level, putting all those changed blocks into the incremental backup file. Thanks.

Re: Backup Data keep growing
No, backup data will not grow continuously. Total backup size will stop growing once the job reaches your desired retention policy, and starts deleting older backup files in addition to creating new ones. Thanks!

Also if you want to build a trend on the backup files size growth or estimate the required space in future, you can use Veeam ONE integration with Veeam B&R. It contains 20+ backup focused reports and views. Thanks!
