Is it feasible/wise to attempt to run a disk VBR backup during VM disk consolidation?
I would think not (or at least not recommended), since VBR uses a snapshot.
I ask because VMW6 consolidation of this particular vm is proceeding at 3% per hour (based on change in last 2 hrs), and at 25% now... so I assume I need to do something else for backup tonight or generally cross my fingers.

Re: Backup during consolidation
...and now consolidation has finished and was successful - so much for linear extrapolation from % complete.
I am still curious about the question asked (can you backup during consolidation?), but not critical anymore, obviously.

Re: Backup during consolidation
I would think the snapshot creation attempt would fail with an error about an active task in progress, but if not, I figure it's probably unwise anyway.
