Hi all,
VBR 9.5 U4
vSphere 6.7 U2
We use Veeam for backing up only important VM's or where the system owner specifically ordered it. These machines have an vCenter Tag that the backup job picks it up. This is working very well and suits our VM life cycle-process very good.
We also use storage snapshots as an extra DR-restore option. Guess I don't need to point out the flaws for you guys in this setup. Instead of using storage snapshots, I would like to add ALL the VMs without a backup vCenter Tag to a weekly job, 2 copies saved. Since the regular jobs are scheduled 7 days a week, I would only like to add the not-yet-backedup-VM's to this new job.
How would you go about to address this?
I could add just a vCenter Tag to all of these but that would miss newly created VM's. Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Re: Backup job for all VM's without Veeam backup?
Add root container as a job source (vCenter, Cluster or ESXi host), set the tag as exclusion - should do the trick. Thanks!
