Backup of independent disks

Hi All,

Would want to check since Veeam doesn't support the backup of independent disks, is there any where for me to ensure that the VM with those disk mode are protected?

Hey Jason,

I would say VMware does not support snapshotting these disks, thus they are excluded from backup. You however use agent-based backup for protecting these VMs.

For those who feel a veeam warning is wanted, would it not be more useful to have VMWare warn the adminstrator in bright lights when they choose to create an independent disk, that this disk will not be backed up nor snapshotted?
