Backup out-of-backup window VM

Post by datnus »

Hi,
I have 20 VMs and only 4 hour backup windows.
Hence, the Veeam B&R normally backup 10 VMs and terminates everyday.
is it possible for Veeam B&R to backup the 10 remaining VMs on the next backup window?

Thanks so much.

Do you backup all of your VMs in a single job? How about splitting it into several ones to allow them process VMs simultaneously?

As my VMs may move around different hosts, I wonder if I backup 1 job/host, what would happen if my VM move from host A to host B?

It will be picked up automatically by the corresponding job (the one that is backing up VMs on the host your VM has moved to).

I would recommend using VM containers as source for your backup jobs, in this case you will not need to think about VM migration at all.
