Backup performance

Post by ashman70 »

When a job finishes with the following statistics:

Load:Source 2% >Proxy 8%>Network 7%>Target 92%

What does Target mean and is that percentage high? Is it a bad thing? If source is a high percentage what does that mean and is it bad?

Right, and having either of the components reported as bottleneck is not bad. It is just the way your setup operates in terms of backup data transfer. There will always be the bottleneck, in every environment. Even if every part of the chain performs well, one of them is still makes others to wait (unless we're talking about ideal setup).
