Backup proxy on Windows Server Core
I've found in the forums that it is supported to install the backup proxy on Windows Server Core but I have not found (with limited searching) the directions to do this. Anyone know where the directions are or how to install software in server core?

Re: Backup proxy on Windows Server Core
It does not matter if the server you are installing backup proxy on is core, or full blown. This makes no difference whatsoever. Just right-click the Backup Proxies node in the management tree of Veeam UI, select Add New, and follow the wizard. Thanks!

Re: Backup proxy on Windows Server Core
That I'm not so concerned with, I'm mostly looking for help getting the proxy service running on Server Core. I've never really used SC so I'm at a lost and so far my Googling has been unsuccessful.

And that's what Gostev's response was addressing. You don't have to do anything on the Windows Core server to get the proxy service running. The entire install is performed remotely via the Veeam GUI.

Can, anyone point me towards some Veeam B&R v9 documentation which specifically states that Windows Core is supported and for which roles.

Re: Backup proxy on Windows Server Core
The user guide has the system requirements.
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/vsp ... ments.html
Microsoft Windows Server Core
You cannot install Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager on a machine running Microsoft Windows Server Core. However, you can assign roles of a backup proxy, backup repository, WAN accelerator, Veeam Cloud Connect infrastructure components and tape infrastructure components to machines running Microsoft Windows Server Core.

Hi Folks,
I am running numerous VBR components on windows 2016 core, gateways, proxies, repositories ect. Everything works fine and it goes without saying that less resources are needed.
cheers
