Backup Proxy server

Post by sa2057 »

Hi All,

I need an advice regarding proxy server. Could some one pl. point me to the right direction..

We have recently upgraded to veeam 5( standard) to 6.1 ( enterprise) and the backup jobs are running very slow. After reading some forums and documentation I came accross with some information is to have a dedicated backup proxy server istead of default proxyserver which was istalled during upgrade.

Which one is recommended ? virual/physical??. What are the system requirements or any documentation for installation.

here are my veeam backup server details

Intel Xeon E5649 2.53 GHZ
RAM- 12 Gb
Windows server 2008 R2

Storage:
Dothill and EMC

Thanks in advance

What bottleneck stats do your backup jobs show? Could you please also give a bit more details about your setup: what is your primary storage and what transport mode do you use for source VMs data retrieval?

You can also search the forum for existing discussions on virtual vs physical proxies (btw, here is one of them).

System requirements for all Veeam B&R components can be found in the corresponding user guide section.

Hello,

Error while running a backup job with newly created backup proxy server.

Previous backups were successful when I ran through default proxy( Veeam B&R)

here is the error..

Code: Select all

https://vcenter.domainname:443/sdk' SOAP connection is not available. Connection ID: [vcenter.domainname]. Failed to create NFC download stream. NFC path: [nfc://conn:vcenter.domainame,nfchost:host-2421,stg:datastore-5400@HSFS01/HSFS01.vmx
Is it something related vCenter web services??

Thanks

Can you download this file with the vSphere Client's datastore browser installed on that new backup proxy server?

This is fixed now.

It was the problem with Backup proxy where we had three vNic's installed to connect various networks.

Thanks
