Backup - Read part over FC - possible?

Hello,

This might be pretty simple, I have the below infrastructure in place,

1. Two ESXi hosts - connected to a storage
2. One Physical Veeam B&R server - connected to the same storage as above
3. The Veeam Server speaks to the ESXi hosts via a Layer-3 Network switch

Now, the Backup Repository is mapped as a LUN to the Veeam server via FC, so the backups are pumped into the storage via FC link.

I would like to know, if there is anyway to initiate the read operation of the backup job over FC as well? Presently it happens over the ethernet (as the veeam server speaks to the ESXi host over the switch)

Could someone guide me to the architechture and setup to initiate the "read" part of the backup process over FC as well?
