hello all,
i have stupidly already updated to the new 7.0.3b, which have all been withdrawn by vmware.
what about backups regarding the new critical problem regarding thin-disk and psod? snapshots are created during backup and they are always thin-disks. is this a problem and can this psod occur during backup? i don't know if unmap commands are used.
do i have to stop the backup's, replica's, cdp's until the fix?
thank you
jeff

Re: backup, replica, cdp on v7.0.3b -> PSOD?
Guten Tag!
Note that they have withdrawn *all* U3 builds, not just U3b.
But no, you will be fine from Veeam perspective. We did full regression testing on vSphere 7.0 U3 and officially support it from our side. We would not support it if there were any blockers from our perspective. We did run into BSOD issue in one of our labs with older datastores and we just didn't use it for testing (but those BSODs are not connected to backup activity anyway). I blogged about this in the forum digest a few weeks ago. But the rest of our labs were fine including long-term stability test, so there are no concerns supporting U3 deployments from our side.
Thanks!
