I know that with Backup / Replication you need to have vSphere Essentials due to the API constraints.
But I was reading through the FAQ for Backup / Rep for VMWare Starter and it says that you do not require vSphere Essentials http://go.veeam.com/rs/veeam/images/Vee ... er-FAQ.PDF
So I guess my question is, why can I use the free version of ESXi with Veeams vmware starter kit? And will there be limitations using the free version of ESXi?
Thanks

Re: Backup / Replicate VMware Starter
Actually you cannot, the document never says that... vSphere Essentials or better edition is required even for Starter kit. What the document is saying, is that it does not have to be vSphere Essentials (can also be vSphere Standard, Enterprise etc.)kwessel wrote:why can I use the free version of ESXi with Veeams vmware starter kit
