Backup Successfully but not all VMs backed up...
Hi Forum ,
I have a Backup job scheduled every night. Within this job I have 15 VMs which have to be stored. The next day I can see that the job was done successfully , but only three of 15 VMs are actually done. The Next day 5 or 6 of 15 are done...
What is going on here? Why B&R tells me that everything went well, allthough not the whole job is done ...
Thanks für help,
Filip

Filip, do you see any related messages in the backup job session? How do you tell that only some of the VMs are actually backed up?

Do these VMs have the same configuration/location? Do you possibly check job retry sessions?

Thanks for your help guys....
all the VMs are on the same server (esxi) and the same storage (local). Now I made another Job where I am trying to backup 4 VMs , but tonight only one VM has been backuped.
In the left Listbox I see only 1 VM Name "Success" ...
The Rightpanel shows the following :
10.06.2015 05:55:07 :: Job started at 10.06.2015 05:55:07
10.06.2015 05:55:07 :: Building VM list

Is this job actually scheduled to run at 05:55? What do you see if you right-click the corresponding backup under the Backups node and select Properties?

Re: Backup Successfully but not all VMs backed up...
Also how did you add these VMs to the job? Explicitly or via container?

@foggy: the job is scheduled to 1:00 am.. I dont have an idea why the job started that late !
@Vitaliy S.: I added the Vms explicitöy by clicking the host and then I selected the 4 VMs

What about backup? Does it contain only one VM? (as Foggy's mentioned, you can check it under Backups node). Thanks.

Sounds like you are seeing a retry. If so when you open the backup status try clicking the left arrow. This will scroll through any other retries and the initial run.

Re: Backup Successfully but not all VMs backed up...
ok it seems, that every day the backup job runs it takes more VMs to the List while building the "VM List". Now all the VMS are listed - remains the question why the B&R choosed only some of the VMs to the actually backup job at the beginning.... doesnt feel good
Now I have the problem, that some of the VMs are failing ( I retried it now 3 times). The reason is :
My infrastructure is the following: B&R (M1)-> Backup Proxy (M2) -> Linuxserver (M3) with mounted NFS (M4)
M= Mashine
How can I find out which part reseted the channel ??
