Hi, i am looking for an easy approach to create and connect an external VMFS datastore to an ESXi 6.7 Hypervisor for a SMB Network and found this:
https://www.synology.com/en-global/know ... _datastore
Will Veeam Backup & Replication recognize this (external) ISCSI storage and will the backup work like it does for the local datastore?
Thanks!
Nico

Re: Backup up VMware Server Datastore (connected via ISCSI to ESXi)
Hi Nico, yes, as it is a standard VMware datastore, Veeam B&R will be able to back up VMs residing there. In case you have a proxy connected to your NAS via iSCSI as well (could be Veeam B&R itself), you will be able to utilize direct SAN backups instead of the network.
