Backup verification for cold storage chains

Hello,

Is there a standalone tool, utility, or script that will allow us to take an independent backup chain from archive storage that is not connected to any B&R console and run a health check on it?

Also, how about chain defragmentation. Is that something we should do at the OS level or use Veeam to do it?
