Best practice for DR replications - location of Veeam server
Looking for some best practice recommendations. We're using Veeam only for replication to a DR site. The environment is vSphere 4.1, four ESXi hosts being replicated across a WAN to two vSphere 4.1 ESXi Essentials hosts. With v6, is it still recommended to locate the Veeam server in the target environment for best performance? Or should we have the main Veeam server at the production site, and a proxy at the DR site? Also, do we need any proxies at the main site?

Chad, the location of the Veeam backup server (production or DR site) no longer matters with v6. You just need proxies in both locations to get maximum from the new architecture. The user guide describes the whole concept pretty well, please review.
