Best Practices, Setup Questions

Hi there,

Im a relative new to Veeam B&R and have some General Questions.

Nearly all of our Infrastructure is on VSphere ESXI Hosts, so i thougt this would be the right forum.
Our Backup was managed by a collague of mine and i have a suspicion that it is not nearly how you should setup your Backup.
All our Virtual Servers have their own Backup Job, all of them are Reverse Incrementa, Have Optimal Compression and Storage optimization set to Local target
Our Backup Storage is just a Synology 4 Bay NAS in the same Network about 100m over 10G Networking with iSCSI.

Every Day a different Server full Backup (the File on the NAS) is saved via a batch script to a differend drive.
Thats about 10 TB a Month (1x all of our servers).
each Month the Drive is replaced and the Backups of the month are stored in a safe.

We don´t use Tape up to this point.
My collague wants to get an LTO8 Tape Drive to get his Backups each Month on it.

As far as I understand it would be wise to do the following, but im not shure, thats why i ask you.

Setup one backup job for nearly all Servers or at least group similar servers together for Deduplication.
Set the Storage optimization to LAN target

Set up a Copy Job in Veeam to consolidate the Backups even more with Deduplication of the files.

Thank you for your answers to that. Im reading a lot lately about Backup but a few questions remain.
