Best way to "transform" backup to veeamzip
Hi all,
I need to "transform" a vmware vm backup to veeamzip.
The main purpose of this request is that veeamzip files were accidentaly deleted and I need them back again..
The actual situation is
- vm destroyed from disk
- backup of vm available
I've tried using instant recovery followed by a veeamzip but I got an error like "failed to add disk 'scsi0:3'" (vm has 4 disks, 156gb, 500gb, 1tb, 1tb).
Note that the veeamzip file must be in a different storage than the original backup, because I dont' have enough free space in the same storage.
Thanks for any hint

Hi, look at the backup export functionality, should address your request.

Re: Best way to "transform" backup to veeamzip
Hi, I've already seen that function but I think that is not useful in my case because "The restore point that is being exported as a new full backup file is saved to the same repository, wherein the source selected restore points reside.", and I need to export to another repo, there's no enough space in the same repo.
Thanks again
Thanks again

Do you have enough free space on vmware to just restore it somewhere and then veeamzip again after?

Yes, I've done a temp volume with a restore -> veeamzip -> delete, but anyway I would like to understand why instant recovery+veeamzip don't work

IR+VeeamZIP will also work, similar to Mark's suggestion.
