Hi all,
I know that the veeam explorer can be used to restore VM(exchange server, SQL server etc). Can I use veeam B&R to restore this type of VMs.
If yes, why do we need veeam explorer? Only for the high speed recovery?
If not, please explain the difference between explorer and B&R.
Thank you

Re: Can I restore the VM for exchange server by using veeam
Not sure I understand the question. Veeam B&R itself allows to restore entire VMs or perform guest OS file-level recovery from them, while Veeam Explorers perform application item-level recovery (i.e. restore mailboxes or separate e-mails from Exchange VM backup, databases and tables from SQL VM backups, etc.). Hope this helps.

Does it means I can still restore a exchange server(VM) by using B&R but the performance is worse than using veeam explorer?

Veeam Explorers are part of backup console and used to provide application-item level recovery, not full VM restore. In other words, Explorers cannot be used to restore entire VM.
So, not sure what performance difference is meant here.
Thanks.
