hello,
Quite generic question here, does it make sense to use AAP in CDP jobs for Windows VMs? I clearly understand what it does with VSS for snapshots for regular backup jobs, but for CDP, since it is CBT/IO filter based replication, what does AAP exactly if it is selected in the CDP job?
Thanks.

Re: CDP and AAP
Hello Frenchblue
Application Aware processing is used in a long-term retention CDP session. AAP will not be used in Short-term retention replications. For a long-term retention point, we prepare the VM with AAP, create a new short term retention point and use that point as a long term retention point: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
This gives you the option to have from time to time an application-consistent CDP replica.
Best,
Fabian
