Hello all.
I am installing new VBR server and need to take ownership of the existing cluster that already has IO Filter installed.
Since it is not specifically stated in the User Guide https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
"If a client B re-installs the I/O filter that was previously installed by a client A, the client A loses the ownership privileges over the filter."
Does this imply that the IO filter will be removed and then reinstalled which means the hosts need to go into maintenance mode or will Veeam just update the the configuration with new server ownership?

Re: CDP taking IO Filter Ownership
Hi Darko
I wanted to confirm in my lab first (Original and Target backup server did run the same patch level):
Moving ownership to the target vSphere host does not require maintenance mode. It's basically a reconfiguration of the previously installed plugin. If you run different patch level of the original and target backup server, maintenance mode will be required to install the correct plugin version.
After taking over ownership, you have to create new CDP policies and use replica mapping to map to the existing CDP replicas.
Best,
Fabian
