Hello,
We have VBR 12.0 we want to change where the backups are going right now since they are going to the production datastore I not a good idea wasnt mine.
Any way we got a synology nas I know we could have issues it is business grade anyway do I just make it a repository and change the backup to go there?
We have like 25 backup jobs is there a way to change them all at once or do I have to go into each and every one and repoint them to the new SYN-NAS Repository?
Thanks in advance

Re: Change Backup Device?
Hi Vmware2024,
You're correct, just edit the jobs to point to the new repository is enough; in this case, new backups sets will be created, and the old backups will be left in the Backups > Disk (Orphaned) node and Background Retention will handle clearing those out automatically.
Alternatively, you can use Backup Move for eligible backups and just move them to the new repository one by one, and the job will be updated automatically to use the new repository and continue the original Backup Set.
Move is easiest as it takes care of everything for you, but either works -- to do it in bulk you can use the Veeam RESTAPI for changing the repository, or with Move-Backup you can script it with Powershell.
