Compatibility with vSphere 6.5 and CentOS 8
We currently use Veeam to back up our vSphere 6.5 CentOS 7 and Windows virtual machines. We want to add a CentOS 8 VM and were wondering will Veeam also be able to backup this virtual machine without any issues?

This will work as we back up on the VM level. Are you using application aware processing for something on those VMs?

The VM image level backup do not care about what is within the VM. Same for VM restore. For file level restore there need to be a compatible filesystem that we support. For Application Aware Backup with Veeam guest processing and Application restore, please check our requirements.

Re: Compatibility with vSphere 6.5 and CentOS 8
Just to add something:
Veeam B&R officially supports all OS versions which are supported by vSphere. (CentOS 8 is supported according to the matrix)
Microsoft VSS integration is supported for Microsoft Windows 2003 and later, except Nano Server (due to the absence of VSS framework).
You can find more information in our release notes, pages 2 -3.
Thanks!
