Configuration Backup Email

Post by jimscott »

Hi,
We have setup a new Veeam server and new Veeam install yesterday. Clean install. I got the daily "Configuration Backup for XXX" just now but I dont understand the statistics in the email.
So far the new Veeam server has backed up about 10VMs and copied this to tape last night.

I am curious why the items and sessions numbers and tape catalogue is so high?

Because that's how configuration backup process tracks various catalog items (very granularly). What specifically worries you though, considering your backup size is just 400KB? I would understand your concerns if you had a 400MB backup ;)

Hi Gostev,
When it states Tape catalog 156. What does the 156 actually mean?
Same with Sessions catalog 560?

Those are internal numbers of records in Veeam database. For example Sessions Catalog is the one you see under History node in Veeam UI, Tape Catalog would also contain information about registered tape servers, detected tape cartridges, media pools etc.
