Configuring Storage Array snapshot for some VM backup ?

Hi All,

I've created new Veeam Backup job which only includes some of the big VMs with the total size of 2.6 - 12 TB+ in size per VM.

So do I need to enable the below check boxes or not needed:



I do not want to impact the other VMs in the same VMFS datastore since it is going to create the snapshot as well for all VMs in the LUNs as per the explanation above?

This option counts VMs added to the job only. In case the limit is not specified, all added VMs will be backed up from a single storage snapshot (snapshot will be created for the entire volume, right). Here's a more detailed explanation of the option.

So if I use the storage Array Snapshot, it is all or nothing approach not just for few select VM in a particular Veeam Backup job?

I would assume the performance of the job can be increased if you divide these big VMs into 2 groups by enabling the option "Limit processed VM...", as the consolidation time of VMware snapshots will be reduced due to the decreased overall size of VMs.
