Connect same vcenter on 2 veeam backup server
Quick question. Will it be an issue to kick off 2 or more migrations from different Veeam B&R instances connected to the same vCenter? They will be for different sites. Thank you.

Hi Leo,
May I ask to clarify some things:
You have one vCenter and several Backup and Replication instances connected to this host, right?
Are you going to migrate to new ESXi host with Quick Migration?
Not sure if I understand correctly what you meant by two migrations.
Thanks!

Yes. I am trying to migrate VMs from old ESXi hosts to new ones. There is a remote site where the bandwidth was very low so I thought to just install a B&R in a local server to migrate those VMs. At the same time, I will continue to migrate other VMs using the original B&R.

May be there is something I'm missing, but how installing VB&R in the remote site will speed up the migration process - bandwidth will still be the limiting factor, no? Thanks!

The way I understand it. The data goes through the VB&R during migration. The remote site only has a 20mbps back to where the current VB&R is. If I install a new VB&R at the remote site, then the migration should be local right? The new and old ESXi hosts are at the same site, and I am going to install the new VB&R on a Windows Server in the new ESXi host.

Hi Leo,
Ok, now I think I get it.
If you don't try to migrate the same VM with different VBRs, there should not be any issues with migration.
But I'm not sure it will do the trick - as it's already stated, the data will still go through VBR during the migration.
Did you consider adding proxy?
Thanks!

I don't see why it wouldn't do the trick if I "move" VB&R to the site to do the migration and take the WAN connection out of the equation.
I did look at proxy but I couldn't tell if it would serve as the "local" VB&R data processing point during migration.

Just an FYI. I end up installing a local VB&R in that site and was able to complete the migrations. Thanks again for everyone's replies.
