HI all,
Our repo storage suffered some issues with I/O and temperature and it unfortunately locked up requiring a forced reboot. We've now ended up with some of our VBR jobs failing with an error.
Task failed. Error: Cannot proceed with the job: existing backup meta file '<job.vbm>' on repository '<repo>' is not synchronized with the DB. To resolve this, run repository rescan
After running a rescan on the SOBR we get all green and it was successful, however, if we try to run the job again it receives the same error.
If we select a single repository that isn't captured in a SOBR and run a rescan, we get a lot more detail.
Warning Failed to import backup path /mnt/veeamrepo/<repo>/<target folder>/<job.vbm> Details: Root element is missing.
We are currently running this on Ubuntu 20.04, XFS. The repositories are configured with per-VM backup jobs.
We currently have a sev1 raised as this is prevent almost all backups from running for our customers.
Case: 07131799
Thank you.

Re: DB Sync required with repository
Did you happen to try running an Active Full backup to create a new chain? It seems like the current one got corrupted somehow but I am sure support will be able to tell you for sure. I would test one job with an Active Full to see.

Re: DB Sync required with repository
Hey Chris,
We manged to get around this while waiting on support by removing/renaming the .vbm file and the jobs were able to start running again. The suggestion after this from Support was to go through the Repository properties wizard to the end. This also had the same affect and rescan was able to complete successfully and jobs are running once again.
However, the backup browser for restoring either guest files or entire VM is freezing and not proceeding - need to close from task manager. Currently waiting on support for this.

Re: DB Sync required with repository
That is great you got it fixed and jobs can run now. Hopefully support fixes the restore as well.
