Decrypting backup copy jobs

Post by rnt-guy »

Hello,

We have been copying backup jobs encrypted to one location, but we are now moving to a data domain in our management and thus want to move the previously run copy jobs to the DD without encryption on so they can dedupe and compress better. We know how to set all jobs going forward to not be encrypted but how do we move over the files from past backups while not being encrypted?

Thanks

Hi rnt-guy,

Unfortunately, there is no way to disable encryption on the existing backup files.

Is this still the case? We are running into space issues and wanted to leverage an HP StoreOnce appliance.

Yep, you cannot store such backups in decrypted format. Thanks.
