Deleting disk after VM is removed from Inventory

Post by helpmbn »

Hi.

I am using VSphere v5.5.
I had a VM that I needed to remove from a disk but instead of clicking on "Remove from Disk" I accidentally chose the "Remove from Inventory" option right above it.
Now the VM isn't shown in my Inventory and I'm assuming it is still located somewhere on the disk.

How do I do one of the following:
A) Delete the VM entirely from the disk, when I can't see it in my Inventory.
B) Restore the VM to the Inventory list so I can delete if from there (hopefully without missclicking again!)

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Hello Mark,

You can import any backup file back to your inventory directly from the console by using the Import Backup functionality. Once backup is removed from the VBR inventory you can manually remove it from the disk via file browser. Thanks

You can also run a rescan procedure for the repository where VM is stored. After it pop ups again the in backup console, you can click "Remove from Disk" option. Thanks!
