Re: disable temporary snapshots
Can you clarify a bit your request? Veeam creates temporary snapshots to backup virtual machines (this is common for all VM-image based backup solutions), once backup job is complete, this snapshot is removed.

Re: disable temporary snapshots
And because of the way VMware VADP libraries work, there's no way to do a backup without taking a snapshot of a VM first. This is true for any VADP-complaint backup solution, not just Veeam.

Re: disable temporary snapshots
The problem is that veeam creates temporary snapshots on datastores
in which some free space, and the machine is very large, because of this there are problems it is possible to limit the size of snapshots?

Re: disable temporary snapshots
snapshots have specifics belonging to VMware technologies, the starting size is 1GB if I remember correctly, and then it grows as it store temporary writes. The more it stays open and the more writes it receives, it grows accordingly.
You can enable notifications and alarms using vCenter or Veeam ONE about snapshots related situations so to be aware of space consumption, or also try to use this registry key (http://forums.veeam.com/vmware-vsphere- ... tml#p88174) to limit issues.
But really, you should design datastore space accordingly to not overload it, VMware recommends keeping 20% of free space on any datastore.

Re: disable temporary snapshots
Notifications would not help in this case, so the only solution I see is to free up some space on the datastores according to VMware recommendations.

Re: disable temporary snapshots
You can tell why from version 7.0 weeam backup end replication
because of the snapshots I stop working vcenter ???
Eror:
could not connect to one or more vcenter server systems
Snapshots I have not deleted, but all exactly Vcenter not start ...
I also noticed that weeam does not always remove snapshots even if the backup was successful.
In version 6.5.0.128 and later, Veeam Backup & Replication tracks all snapshots it creates and tries to remove those snapshots on later job runs. Prior to 6.5.0.144, this feature could result in vCenter connection duplication if the temporary snapshot was deleted manually.
If the snapshot is named anything other than "VEEAM BACKUP TEMPORARY SNAPSHOT" then this KB is not applicable.
You say to contact the vmvare? but this problem creates your tool!

Re: disable temporary snapshots
Vadim, have you contacted Veeam technical support with this? I believe they will be able to review your environment and assist you in solving your issue in your native language. Thanks.
