Documentation - File level Restore Linux with original host
Hello together

I would like to report that more detailed documentation on the following point is desirable in the user guide or help centre.

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

Specifically, it is about Step 5 Specify Helper Host and the original host function there (possibly also how this works technically, i.e. the mount is on the original host, etc.).
In our experience, the instructions are not directly related to the practice. The procedure for key instead of credentials is also not described. Especially when using for the first time / new key it is annoying that the trust is not described in the instructions.

Thank you for your support.

Greetings Lucas

Hi Lucas, welcome to the forums!

Can I ask you to check this part of the User Guide regarding how the Guest File restore from Linux works, as it describes the nature of the Helper Host a bit more as well as the difference in processing between the Helper Appliance and the Helper Host.

>The procedure for key instead of credentials is also not described. Especially when using for the first time / new key it is annoying that the trust is not described in the instructions.

May I ask you to elaborate on this part a bit? I think you're discussing the configuration of Public Key authentication, but want to be sure I'm understanding which element you're discussing when you mention key instead of credentials. Can you elaborate on the difficulty?

For any documentation requests/feedback, you can click the "Submit Feedback" link on any User Guide page and make your request/suggestions as well, just FYI :)
