If we enable backup encryption it shows up a message "The new encryption settings will be applied starting from the next active full".
All of my backup jobs are based on forward incremental with synthetic full backups
does encryption work in such scenarios?

Yes, you can utilize encryption in the described scenario. Note that when you are enabling encryption on the existing backup chain, it will not kick in until the next periodic or manual active full. Thanks!

Current forward incremental backup jobs with synthetic fulls are got encrypted after a few days .
it means synthetic fulls also is supported alongside with active full backup
