Overnight, Veeam B&R 12.1 detected encrypted data in a Linux VM. We are only using the inline scan so information is limited. We have changed the location where logs are stored on the B&R server (many years ago) and I can find nothing in any of the suggested Malware Logs
It also looks like I am unable to scan the backup as it is a Linux and not Windows VM
Does anyone have any recommendations how to find more information why Veeam marked the backup as suspicious for encrypted data. Having a list of files/location would be useful but I expect that would only be possible if indexing was turned on in the backup job
Any advice regarding any additional logs would be useful
No support call opened yet as unsure if they would assist with this

Re: Encrypted Data detected during backup
If I try to scan the backup in the inventory Malware Detection view I am shown "Unable to perform content scan for this backup due to the current limitations." The scan option is unavailable when looking at the backup files on Disk
