Encryption Password Change History Question

Post by BackItUp2020 »

Hi there!
Yesterday, I updated my existing encryption password since it was overdue. I used the Edit feature in B&R, changed it, and all has been good.

Does this mechanism store the history somewhere?

The reason I ask is I had to do a restore this morning from a restore point that went back way before I updated this password, yet the restore when through without any prompts or issues about the prior encryption password.

Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, the history of encryption keys is stored in the configuration database so you could seamlessly restore from encrypted backups.
