Enterprise manger need What kind of licenses do you require?

Post by i3uln »

Hello

My client company is operating two backup servers
You want to manage it with Enterprise Manger.

Two backup servers are using Enterprise Plus.
You have verified that you can use Enterprise Manager with that license.

Can't Enterprise Manger be used as a Standard or Essential license?

Hello,
Enterprise Manager only supports one license file, that it can be either standard, Enterprise, Enterprise Plus, or VUL. I do not remember tight now about essentials. But just one key. Meaning it will cover all different VBRs with that key.

Let's see if Mildur can help us with the essentials question and EM.

Hello

Jorge is right.

Community edition cannot install it. Both socket and VUL essential licenses will be able to use the enterprise manager. The features you get depends on the installed edition.

- VUL essentials (always ent+) can use all features.
- Socket essentials depends on the socket edition (std, ent, ent+).

You don‘t need to buy a new license for the EM. Use your VBR license.
If you have already two VBR servers with their own licenses, you must merge them before using it in the enterprise manager. The licenses must belong to the same company to be able to merge.

Thanks
