Hi,
I have a VM with 2 disks. C drive formatted as NTFS of 60GB with 35GB in use and a D drive formatted as ReFS of 500GB with a couple of MB’s utilized. Both vmdk’s are thin provisioned on a NFS datastore. During backup Veeam reads only the occupied space of the C drive which is expected, but for some reason it reads the entire 500GB of the vmdk containing the ReFS drive. Why does it does this, since the drive is empty and also thin provisioned? vCenter reports a storage usage of 31GB (same as Veeam reports when adding the vm to the job).
Franc.

Re: Entire refs vmdk is read
Hi, this could be because VMware changed block tracking API returns every block of this disk as changed. This can be confirmed by our support engineer through the logs. Thanks!
