Error restoring from Exchange 2019 with DB on ReFS
So i have installed two new Exchange 2019 servers that i am planning on putting in production soon, but before that i tried to migrate a test user over and restore some elements.
First my setup:
Backup server
Windows Server 2016 fully patched
Veeam 9.5U4 RTM
Exchange Servers
Windows Server 2019 w/ Exchange 2019 fully patched
All the databases are on ReFS disks.
VMware nodes & vCenter are on version 6.7
When i try to restore i get the following message:
Following databases are not attached:
c:\veeamFLR\"servername"_236164c1\Volume3\db\Mailbox Database2019.edb
Volume3 is the ReFS volume, if i try to go to c:\veeamFLR\"servername"_236164c1\ and open the other volumes that are NTFS based i can browse them.
Are there any requirements I am missing? or do i need the the GA version of Update 4?

You need the mount server specified for backup repository holding Exchange VM backups to be Server 2019, otherwise it will not be able to mount and read ReFS volumes created by Server 2019. I am guessing that right now, you're using Server 2016 as the mount server.

In my tests with Beta versions I was able to read it from Win2016, but maybe you have additional functionallity enabled. That is why I asked for the logs.
Please install the Veeam Console on a Windows 2019 system and set the mount server as well to it. That way it should work if this was the issue.

I installed the Veeam Console on a Windows server 2019 and it now works like a charm to mount and restore files to Exchange 2019 on a ReFS partition.

It is hard to predict what the root cause is based on the available information. Can you please open a support case, upload logs there and share the support case number here for reference. The support team can check and help you with this.
