ESX 6.5 support
Hi Guys,
i've looked on the forum to see if someone already posted this, i couldn't find anything about esxi 6.5. if i missed it and is double apologies for this.
anyway as you may know the vSphere is releasing the new 6.5 version soon early November.
is Veeam 9.0 with the latest patches will support that ?
is there going to be a patch for this?
thank you guys

Re: ESX 6.5 support
Hi Julien,
VBR v9 doesn`t support ESXi 6.5 because it`s not even released yet. We are going to release VBR v9.5 RTM next week, GA in 3 weeks, so VBR v9 will not have an update compatible with new vSphere.
The closest version of VBR compatible with ESXi 6.5 will probably be v9.5u1.
Thanks!

Re: ESX 6.5 support
RTM is mostly for Cloud Connect providers available 2 weeks before GA which is "for everyone"

Re: ESX 6.5 support
Can the RTM be requested via ticket? We already had to install several windows 2016 and our dev ist just waiting for Veeam to implement SQL 2016!

RTM is for Cloud Connect providers only. I would recommend to wait GA build for 2 weeks, it will be more stable as well.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: ESX 6.5 support
Going back to the original question, Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 will not support vSphere 6.5 until 9.5 Update 1.
Historically, we've been releasing support for new vSphere versions on average 2 months after its general availability.

Re: ESX 6.5 support
I was going to ask about this as well. Glad to hear you guys are on it. I generally haven't jumped on any of the vSphere/ESXi 6.x version cause of the constant CBT issues I keep hearing about. For some reaon I just have this inclination that 6.5 will be a good release and I'm excited to get my hands on it and start playing around. I started playing with Hyper-V 2016 on Nano, and have already come across some limitations.
Keep up the good work guys!
