ESX host still showing old info

Post by maelito »

Hi all

I have an ESX which was part of an old VC, this host has been upgraded to ESXi5.5 but in Veeam is still showing as ESX 4 even thou the host is on the new VC.

How can this be corrected?

The rescan wont pick the new server version. It's just updating disks and volumes.

vSphere 5.5 is not supported by the current Veeam B&R version.

Is this the only issue with that host? Do jobs targeting it run successfully?

No, the job fails with:
03/10/2013 12:05:04 :: Error: Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password.

Could you please tell me if you have any credentials specified for this ESXi server or you're using vCenter server connection to backup VMs from this ESX server (basically, how this host was added to the Veeam B&R console, as a standalone or via vCenter)?

I recommend contacting support with this so they could review your setup closer and investigate the logs, if required.

Also, you might want to verify the correctness of provided credentials. It can be done by simple connecting to the host via vSphere-client.

The issue itself might be related to the upgrade process causing duplication of the entry in the Veaam database. So, as mentioned, the support team in this case would be the best option.

Thanks.

Actually, you can still do this, and you will get assistance based on staff availability. In any case, please appreciate that this forum is not an alternative support portal for users with missing or expired support contract... it serves quite different purpose, which is explained when you click New Topic.
